Through Alejo’s journey, our family was introduced to Canuck Place, a nonprofit organization that provides palliative care for children with life-threatening illnesses and support for their families. But they are so much more than that. Canuck Place nurses and counsellors allowed Fed and Erin to feel supported through Alejo’s illness and to feel as comfortable and be as present as possible during his passing. After Alejo’s passing, they ensured that our family was supported through all the difficult steps one must go through after the loss of a child.
